Government Funding for 15 and 30 Hours
We understand childcare costs can be challenging. Fortunately, government-funded support is available, which can significantly reduce your monthly expenses at Strawberry Field Day Nursery. We encourage you to explore these options to make quality childcare more affordable for your family.
How does it work?
In England, all children are entitled to Universal funding (15 hours) from the term after their 3rd birthday, covering 570 hours annually over 38 weeks. No eligibility code is required, only proof of the child’s date of birth.
Extended funding (30 hours) may be available from the same age for families meeting specific criteria, such as working over 16 hours weekly, earning under £100,000 annually, and living in England. This provides 1140 hours annually over 38 weeks.
How can I check if I’m eligible?
To apply for the 30 hours extended funding, you’ll need to set up a childcare account on the government website. You’ll require personal details, including National Insurance numbers and Unique Taxpayer Reference (if self-employed). The application takes about 20 minutes, with eligibility results typically available within 7 days.
Once approved, provide your Strawberry Field Day Nursery with your 11-digit eligibility code, NI number, and child’s date of birth to claim the funding.
For more information on extended funding, visit the Childcare Choices website.
Using 15 and 30 hours funding at Strawberry Fields Day Nursery
At Strawberry Field Day Nursery, we apply 15-hour and 30-hour funding according to government guidelines. You’ll be responsible for costs related to additional hours, meals, drinks, nappies, trips, and other consumables.
Understanding that term-time hours don’t suit all families, we stretch the funding over our 51-week operating year to better accommodate working parents.
For specific details about how funding works at our nursery, please consult with our management team.
